Job Description

Assume leadership and accountability for facilitating and documenting all projects, including working with project sponsor to complete projects on time, on budget, while achieving targeted results. This includes working effectively with functional leads and vendors in a collaborative manner to analyze issues and drive improvement of selected business projects and processes. Also included is the appropriate use of project management concepts and tools to plan, guide, monitor and document project activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Facilitate all activities in the entire project life cycle, including definition of objectives and scope, plan development, task definition, forming project teams, coordinating and meeting with stakeholders and participants, monitoring progress, driving progress through to completion, status reporting, and project documentation.
Leverage project management concepts and tools to design, develop, document and assist in implementing standard processes -- including advanced concepts and techniques where appropriate
Work closely with the project sponsor to manage resources, budgets, and project plans
Plans and analyzes all assigned projects, and is responsible for all aspects of project management, including managing cost, time, and scope/quality constraints to ensure successful delivery against internal customer expectations.
Builds constructive and effective relationships; uses diplomacy and tact; truly values people; can defuse even high-tension situations comfortably
Regularly review project metrics and time line to ensure appropriate progress, especially related to longer-term projects. Provide project direction and matrix leadership to project team members and other supporting groups to ensure progress and accomplish objectives
Uses PMO project management software and appropriate tools for managing, tracking, and reporting on assigned projects. Works under general direction.
Act as administrator for Portfolio Project Management tools to constantly monitor deliverables and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
Perform other duties as assigned by VP or Business Systems Manager

Qualifications:
BA/BS in Business Administration, Computer Science or related field, or significant relevant work experience required
certification in project management and knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management techniques and tools
proven experience in change management, matrix management environment across geographically disperse project team

Requirements
Critical thinking, problem solving, planning and technological skills
Knowledgeable with many process improvement / project management concepts and tools (e.g. process mapping and analysis, cause and effect, Pareto, control charts, decision matrix, matrix diagrams, RACO)
Proficient in project management (like MS Project) , process mapping (like MS Visio), and productivity (like MS Office Suite) software
Strong analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills required.
